Behavior-aware blocking

An app blocker should explain the habit before it blocks

Learn how behavior insights can turn app blocking from a blunt restriction into a rule that fits the pattern.

Blocking is the last step

A block is only as useful as the reason behind it. A fixed daily cap can help with long sessions, but it may do little for ten brief checks or a predictable late-night loop. The first job is to identify which pattern is repeating.

Match friction to the pattern

Different loops call for different boundaries.

  • Use a scheduled block for a recurring danger window
  • Use a daily limit when total duration is the main issue
  • Use a short access window when you need intentional, time-boxed use
  • Use a focus session when several distractions compete with one task

Keep the user in charge

Klokd presents the evidence and recommends a rule, but does not silently create one. You can review the affected apps, timing, strictness, and duration before applying it. That keeps the intervention understandable and reversible.
